After a bad game two of the playoffs between the Miami Heat and New York Knicks, the Knicks center Amare Stoudemire was rushed by paramedics after punching the glass to a fire extinguisher. He had to have immediate surgery to fix his hand, and to have any chance of playing again this year.
Amare looked like a complete idiot when he did this! Glass vs. skin...Glass wins!! What was he thinking?? I didn't see a fire in the building. Leave the extinguisher alone and get back to the locker room to recap on what went wrong, and what you can fix to win the next one! It was only the second loss. He was not thinking when he did this. Come on Amare!!

I agree with chase, Amare over reacted. I know that it was in the heat of the moment and he was not thinking but this is just stupid. Damaging your hand as a professional basketball player in the one thing that you really have to avoid. Even though it is possible to play basketball with one hand it makes it extremely difficult.
ReplyDeleteAmare is obviously an idiot. If he can't play for the rest of this season that is his own fault. He deserves what he gets. If he gets this fired up, he needs a tempurpedic pillow to take his anger out on in the locker room instead of a fire extinguisher.
ReplyDeleteAmare needs to control his emotions, the emotions of the loss got the best of him. It happens to all of us, but not everyone is an idion and punches a fire extinguisher case, especially when it's glass. That's obviosly not the smartest, or saftest, thing to do. He needs to just cool it and know that there is still games left to play.
ReplyDeleteAmare was stupid for doing this. He is a major part of this Knick team. With him doing this act of stupidity shows his immaturity. He is supposed to be a role model for children. How is this being a role model by punching a fire extinguisher? In the end I like what the Pacers trainers did to the fire extinguishers in Orlando by taping them up.
ReplyDeleteI think Stoudemire is a goon for punching a fire extiguisher. I know that he was mad but there is still no reason to do this. I thought the pacers joke they pulled on his was really funny though.
